Parts of Medicare - Discover Your Options

Now that we know what Medicare is and who it's for, let's look at how it's divided into parts, each with different coverage. Here's a quick overview of the main parts:

  1. Part A: Hospital Insurance
  • Covers hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, and hospice care.

  1. Part B: Medical Insurance
  • Covers medical services such as doctor's visits, preventive exams, and durable medical equipment.

  1. Part C: Medicare Advantage
  • Plans Offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare.
  • Combine the coverage of Parts A and B.
  • Include additional benefits such as prescription drugs and vision and hearing services.

  1. Part D: Prescription Drug Coverage
  • Provides coverage for prescription drugs.
  • Offered by private insurance companies.

It's important to note that Medicare doesn't cover all medical expenses in full. Medicare beneficiaries generally have to pay monthly premiums, deductibles, and copayments for covered services. Additionally, there are certain coverage limitations, and some specific services and treatments may not be included.

It's recommended that individuals interested in Medicare educate themselves in detail about the different aspects of the program and the options available to choose the coverage that best suits their needs. Evaluate your needs, budget, and eligibility to make an informed decision about the health insurance that best fits you.

If you're unsure about what type of health insurance is right for you, we recommend speaking with an insurance advisor or seeking help from community organizations that provide assistance on healthcare matters. They can guide you and help you make the best decision.
